On October 31st I departed Suriname to embark on an epic tour through the historic and pre-historic places of Peru. Like you do.
Between Equador, Peru, and Bolivia an impressive set of ancient structures can be found. Most however, in Peru. To name a few: Paracas, the Nazca Lines, Cusco, Machu Pichu, Qenqo, Sachsaywaman, Quillarumicoq, the Andene terraces, the Chulpa Towers of Sillustani, the Puno Fertility Temple, Choquequirao, Kuelap, Ollantaytambo, Caral, Moray, and Chan Chan.
In Paracas we find the enigmatic Paracas culture elongated skulls. They are interesting because they are likely not homo sapiens sapiens. The skulls can be found in both the Juan Navarro Museum and the Julio C. Tello Museum. To be clear both skulls of homo sapiens sapiens eleongated through cranial deformation and non homo sapiens sapiens skulls elongated through genetic predisposition are found in Paracas. They are ... because of the physical features:
Where: the largest naturally elongated skulls are found in a single graveyard, the chongos, on the coast of Peru.
A child's skull was found <where>. Forensic dentistry tells us she was 20 months old at the time of her death. Carbon-14 testing tells us she died 1950 years ago.
Hair color, Skull shape, absence of parietal suture, 2 foremen holes on the top of the head.
